Other heat treatment water-based quenching agents

Since it is easy to form soft spot, deform or crack by water quenching in ordinary carbon steels and low alloy steels, the traditional water solution of sodium chloride will corrode the quenching tank and work pieces greatly, and the stimulation to workers by using the water solution of sodium hydroxide is too great, which is dangerous to the workers’ skin if the soda lye splashed. To solve these problems, We have developed and produced the YIY-Ⅳ water-soluble quenching agent.
1 Characteristics of the product YIY-Ⅳ
1) Good cooling characteristics

In a certain concentration, the cooling speed of pearlite transition zone is faster than water, the cooling speed of martensite transition zone is slower than water, which can effectively eliminate the steam film generated by quenching, so the work pieces can be quickly and uniform cooling, eliminating the soft-point, and obtain the uniform quenching hardness and hardened layer depth.
2) No sensitive to the temperature of quenching liquid

Compared with the PAG, this quenching agent can maintain stable and good cooling performance even when the temperature changed in a wide range (20-60 ℃) fluctuations, which can save the investment of circulating cooling system equipment and is more suitable for mass production.
3) No sensitive to the concentration of quenching liquid

Compared with the PAG, when the concentration fluctuates within a range of 2-3%, the cooling performance of the quenching liquid changed little, which is very conducive to actual production, not only to reduce production costs but also to simplify the quench fluid maintenance and management.
4) Good anti-rust and human security

Compared with the sodium chloride solution, in a certain concentration, this quenching agent has a good anti-rust performance, not to corrode the quenching equipment and the work pieces; Compared with the sodium hydroxide aqueous alkali, the quenching liquid is non-toxic, harmless to human skin without stimulation, can improve the production operating environment.
2 Range of uses
It is mainly used for the small work pieces of carbon steels or large-scale work pieces of medium or low hardenablility with low alloy steels and low carbon steels to carburize and quench, which is instead of the tap water, sodium chloride and sodium hydroxide alkaline solution.
3 Use and Notes
1) The recommended temperature is 20-60 ℃;
2) The recommended concentration is 2-3% (make up by gravimetric method, check by densitometer);
3) does not recommend using salt bath heating the work pieces, it will reduce the anti-rust for the salt entering the quenching solution. It is suitable for the pieces with resistance furnace or gas furnace heating.
(C)Inorganic polymer composite quenching agent YIY-Ⅴ (concentrated liquid)
Since the temperature and concentration make great influence of the cooling performance, quenching liquids with addition of salt cool fast below 300℃. To solve these problems, we have developed and produced Inorganic polymer composite quenching agent YIY-Ⅴ. So its can stabilize the qualities of heat treatment in mass production and simplify the operations.

1 Characteristics of the product YIY-Ⅴ
1) Higher using temperature : carbon steel quenching ≤ 50 ℃, alloy steel quenching ≤ 60 ℃;
2) Simply measure the concentration: according to different requirements of the work pieces, usually in the range of 7 ± 1% for use (using the hydrometer measure concentration);
3) The realization of quenching as the final cold and high temperature out of the quenching liquid
The anti-rust is better when the temperature of work pieces out of the quenching liquid is above 140 ℃;
2 Using range of product YIY-Ⅴ
It is mainly used for solution treatment of aluminum alloys and instead of water - oil-quenching of large-scale alloy steel pieces.
